I am the SEND Lead and a class teacher, working with families and staff to make sure children with additional needs are well supported in school. As the SEND Lead, my aim is to make sure every child feels happy, understood, and supported at school. I work closely with families, staff, and outside professionals to put the right support in place so children can enjoy learning and feel confident in themselves. I’m always happy to listen to parents and carers, answer questions, and work together to help each child overcome any difficulties. Supporting children with SEND is something I care deeply about, and I am proud to be part of their journey and progress.

I started at Airedale Juniors as a Learning Mentor eight and a half years ago, moving to Airedale Infants after the first year. Throughout my time in education, I am passionate about supporting children both emotionally and academically, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

What I love most about my role is the opportunity to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and their families. Working within pastoral support, safeguarding, learning mentoring, and as an ELSA allows me to make a meaningful difference to children's wellbeing, confidence, and personal development. I find it incredibly rewarding to support children through challenges, celebrate their successes, and help them develop the resilience and emotional skills they need to thrive both in school and beyond.

I am passionate about creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, listened to, and supported. Seeing children grow in confidence, achieve their goals, and develop a positive outlook is what makes my role so fulfilling and motivates me every day.

Over the last three months, I have enjoyed working as the Attendance Improvement Officer across Airedale Infant and Junior Academies. Having previously worked in secondary education, I have loved the challenge of supporting primary-aged children and their families.

I am passionate about education and helping every child succeed. The most rewarding part of my role is supporting families, strengthening links between home and school, and removing barriers to attendance so that children can thrive.

I have worked at the school for just over two years and I am a Teacher, Designated Safeguarding Lead and CIC teacher alongside my role as SENCO.

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a child succeed in something they once found challenging. I am a Learning Mentor working within the inclusion team to support children and families to feel safe and protected in many areas of their lives. Over the past nine years, I have supported children and families, helping to remove barriers to learning and ensuring that pupils are safe, happy, and able to achieve their full potential.
What I love most about my role is building strong relationships with children and families and making a positive difference in their lives. It is incredibly rewarding to see children grow in confidence, overcome challenges, and succeed both academically and emotionally.

As a Learning Mentor, I provide emotional, social, and pastoral support to children, helping them feel safe, valued, and ready to learn. I work closely with families, offering guidance, listening to concerns, and signposting them to additional support when needed. Through my safeguarding responsibilities, I help to ensure that children are protected, supported, and given the best opportunities to thrive both in school and at home.

I love my job because every day gives me the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of children and their families. Having worked in the Airedale community for 24 years, progressing from Teaching Assistant to HLTA and now, and Attendance Officer. I have been privileged to support children through both their achievements and their challenges.

What I find most rewarding is building trusting relationships with pupils and their families, for them to access education successfully on a regular basis. Whether it is providing emotional support, improving attendance, safeguarding vulnerable children, or working alongside families and external agencies, I take pride in knowing that my role can have a lasting impact on a child's wellbeing and future opportunities.

I enjoy being someone children can talk to and rely on, helping them feel safe, valued and understood. Seeing a child grow in confidence, improve their attendance, or achieve success after facing difficulties is incredibly fulfilling and reminds me why I chose to work in education.

I also value being part of a dedicated school community where everyone works together to ensure the best outcomes for children. Knowing that I contribute to creating a positive, supportive environment where pupils can thrive makes my work meaningful and rewarding every day.

I have worked at Airedale Junior Academy for the past nine years. During this time, my role has evolved, allowing me to support children, families and staff across many aspects of school life.

When I first joined the academy, I worked as a Learning Mentor, supporting children and families through nurture, guidance and structure to help develop children's readiness to learn. As my experience and responsibilities have grown, I have taken on additional safeguarding responsibilities and now also work as a within the safeguarding team, ensuring that children are safe, supported and able to thrive.

What I love most about my role is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with children and their families. Through both one-to-one support and group interventions, I help children develop emotional literacy, resilience and confidence. As an ELSA, I work with children to overcome barriers that may affect their learning and wellbeing, supporting them to feel safe, valued and ready to succeed. A rewarding part of my role is seeing a child grow in confidence, achieve their potential and enjoy coming to school. I am passionate about ensuring every child feels safe, heard and supported.

I work closely with parents and carers to build positive relationships, offering guidance, support and early intervention when challenges arise. By working together, we can create the best possible outcomes for children both in school and at home.
